The Following the Royal Visit Project in Surin Province is centered on Ko Sadet Phrapas within Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Surin Campus, the site visited by His Majesty King Rama IX and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit in 1955 (B.E. 2498). The project highlights the restoration of the royal reception pavilion and the development of the surrounding area into a historical learning center and a demonstration site for integrated agriculture inspired by the royal initiatives.

Royal Reception Pavilion
The royal reception pavilion is an old wooden structure that had fallen into disrepair. It has been restored to its original condition and now houses the Following in the Fathers Footsteps exhibition, which tells the story of King Rama IXs royal duties during his visit to this site.
Surrounding Landscape of the Island
The area has been enhanced with the planting of vetiver grass, flowering plants, ornamental trees, and large shade trees, along with the construction of a multi-purpose plaza. A Chai Pattana water turbine has been installed, and sloped walkways have been created to ensure convenience and accessibility for the elderly.
Royal Reception Pavilion
Students, community members, volunteers, and staff collaboratively develop the area, including agricultural plots following the sufficiency economy principles, such as growing vegetables and herbs, raising fish, and implementing a water recycling system.
