Sustainable Rice (TAS 4408-2022) The Sustainable Rice Standard (TAS 4408-2022)
Sustainable Rice (TAS 4408-2022)
The Sustainable Rice Standard (TAS 4408-2022) establishes objectives and requirements covering farm management, pre-planting preparation, water management, nutrient management, integrated pest management (IPM), harvesting and post-harvest handling, occupational health and safety, farm labor rights, paddy rice processing, as well as labeling and claims for paddy rice and rice products.
The standard aims to ensure food safety while promoting sustainable rice production. It applies to paddy rice and rice products, including brown rice (hand-milled rice), whole grain brown rice, and white rice, produced under a Sustainable Rice Production System.
