"Opening the Gateway to Phanom Dong Rak... Welcoming Every Journey"

Preparing to Open the Ta Kwai Temple and Hill 350 Tourist Attractions
The Royal Thai Army is preparing to develop and officially open the historical tourism site of Ta Kwai Temple (Prasat Ta Kwai) and Hill 350 in Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province. This follows a successful trial opening during the Songkran Festival from 13–16 April 2026, which attracted a large number of visitors. The site highlights a unique combination of a more than 1,000-year-old ancient temple and a scenic military strategic hilltop viewpoint.

Preliminary Information on the Opening of Ta Kwai Temple and Hill 350
Current Status:
The site was opened to visitors on a trial basis for the first time during Songkran (13–16 April 2026) and received an overwhelmingly positive response from tourists.

Attractions:

Explore Ta Kwai Temple, an ancient historical monument.
Enjoy panoramic views from Hill 350, an important strategic military position along the Thai–Cambodian border.
Visiting Hours (Trial Period):
Opening hours were adjusted to 07:00 a.m. – 01:00 p.m. to ensure visitor safety and suitability.

Site Development:
The Ministry of Defence, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, is preparing and improving the area for sustainable development as a historical tourism destination.

Recommendations for Visitors
Travel Advisory:
As the area is located near the international border, visitors should strictly follow the instructions of military personnel and local authorities.

Preparation Tips:
Bring a hat, umbrella, drinking water, and a cooling towel, as the area can be very hot and is largely exposed on elevated terrain.

Note:
Visitors are advised to follow official announcements from the Suranaree Task Force and the Surin Provincial Administration regarding official opening schedules and any temporary closures, as border-area conditions may affect public access.
