In a world where coexistence between humans and large animals has become rare, Elephant Village at Ban Taklang, Tha Tum District, Surin Province, still preserves a way of life that has been passed down for centuries. It is the largest elephant village in the world and home to the Kuy people, who have long been experts in training and caring for elephants.

This village is not just a place to raise elephants it is a community where elephants are considered family members. Locals and elephants live side by side under the same roof, and in some households, elephants even sleep next to the house like close pets.
