Thailands protected wildlife under the Wildlife Preservation and Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) was once extinct in the wild in Thailand, surviving only in zoos. Currently, approximately 175 individuals have been reintroduced into the wild.

A wetland is an area that is regularly or temporarily flooded or saturated with water, whether freshwater, brackish, or saltwater. This definition also includes coastal areas and parts of the sea with depths not exceeding 6 meters.
